Structural repairs

Repairs after water, fire & mold cleanup · Lake Norman & Charlotte
When the drying equipment leaves, a house is in an in-between state. The water is gone, but so are the bottom two feet of the walls, the baseboards and often the cabinets. Homeowners at this point tend to ask the same question: what happens next, and who does it? Our answer is straightforward. We meet you on site, do our own inspection, write our own estimate, work with your insurance carrier and rebuild everything that came out — with our own crews.

What we rebuild
Rebuilding a house is a sequence, and the sequence matters. Structure comes before drywall, drywall before paint, subfloor before flooring. Our in-house crews work through it in order, under one contract, so nothing is closed up before it should be.
Joists, framing, subfloor and sheathing, checked and replaced before anything is covered.
Electrical, plumbing and HVAC, brought up to current code while the walls are open.
Hung, taped and textured to match the walls that stayed.
Walls, ceilings and trim, finished so the repair isn’t noticeable.
Baseboards, casing, crown and doors, fitted and finished.
Kitchen, bath and laundry cabinets, reinstalled or replaced, level and square.
Templated, fabricated and installed, or reset when the originals can be saved.
LVP, laminate and carpet, over a subfloor we’ve confirmed is sound.
Set, grouted and sealed, matched to existing tile where it’s still available.
Waterproofed first, then tiled. The waterproofing is the step that protects the house.
New boards woven in, then sanded, stained and finished as one floor.
Complete rebuilds, from the studs to the final fixture.
Real homes, real rebuilds
The project in the video · Charlotte, NC
From the doorway, nothing looked wrong. The tile was intact and the floor was level. Behind the tile, a slow plumbing leak had been rotting the framing for some time. A patch would have covered the problem without solving it, so we took the room to the studs, brought in a local designer, and rebuilt it from the subfloor up.
Before
After★★★★★“I do not hesitate to give them the highest of ratings, especially for damage that resulted from a house fire — skilled in providing a line-by-line, fully itemized estimate that gets a claim approved promptly, and a pleasure to have on-site, overseeing the work until you are made whole again.”
How it works
Drying a house and rebuilding it are separate disciplines, with different equipment and different expertise, and it’s common for two companies to handle them. What matters is that the handoff between them is deliberate. Ours follows the same four steps every time.
Call or request a free inspection. If you’re not sure the drying is finished, that is the first thing we check.
We do our own inspection and documentation: moisture readings, photos and measurements of every affected room. We build the file from the beginning, so every line in the estimate has a source.
An itemized estimate in Xactimate, the software most adjusters use, goes to your adjuster. Hidden damage is common once walls are open; when we find it, we document it and submit a supplement.
Our in-house crews complete the repairs. We walk the finished house with you, then send your carrier the final documentation to close the claim.
Insurance claims
Most homeowners go through a property claim only a few times in their lives, so the process is understandably unfamiliar. It is the center of our work. We document the damage, build the repair scope your adjuster needs, and keep you informed at each step.
Photos, measurements and readings of everything — including what’s behind the walls — before anything is removed.
We write the estimate in Xactimate, the software most adjusters use, and submit the full scope directly to your adjuster.
Your project’s live tracker shows the timeline, documents to sign and what’s next. Customers can find their project here.
We’re a licensed contractor, not a public adjuster or attorney — we don’t interpret policy coverage or negotiate claim settlements.
Questions we hear a lot
Yes. Once the mitigation is complete, we meet you on site, do our own inspection and documentation, write our own estimate and handle the rebuild from there.
Yes. Many homeowners aren’t sure, and the uncertainty is reasonable: framing behind a dry-looking wall can still hold moisture. We take our own readings during the inspection and tell you whether the house is ready for the rebuild. If it isn’t, we tell you exactly what still needs to happen first.
No. If you have it, we’re glad to review it. Either way, we do our own inspection and documentation, so the rebuild estimate stands on its own.
Yes. We submit our itemized Xactimate estimate to your adjuster, keep the carrier updated through the rebuild, submit supplements when hidden damage turns up, and send the final documentation needed to close out the claim.
No, and it’s common. Two careful estimates of the same room rarely match exactly. After our inspection we write our own and review any differences in scope with your adjuster, line by line.
Yes. Ask about our interior design services. Insurance generally pays to restore what you had. If you choose upgrades, you pay the difference, and we put it in writing before work starts, so there are no surprises at the end.
Inspections are free. If your claim is approved, your carrier pays for the covered repairs and your share is usually your deductible; your adjuster can confirm what applies to you. If you’re paying directly, you get a written estimate before any work begins.
We set your inspection on the first call. Repairs begin once the estimate is approved and materials are ordered. You receive a schedule, and you can follow progress in your project tracker at any time.
